The Narwhal
Narwhal Sculpture, 997.22.26.1-2 The narwhal is found in the northern part of the eastern Canadian Arctic — but not in Hudson Bay or along the southern Labrador coast. In northern Baffin Island, narwhal meat is an important dog food. The skin of the narwhal is an Inuit delicacy and its tusk is esteemed for its commercial value and as a raw material for making tools.
