Make Maya Crafts
Each night the Maya sun god took the form of the jaguar and did battle with the beasts of the underworld in order to ensure the next dawn. Young visitors can make the mask of the jaguar, or create their own rainstick with the soothing sounds of the rain.

The Egyptians weren’t the only people to build great pyramids. Learn how the Maya did it!
Meet a Maya High Priest
Down from the temple and out of the jungle into the ROM strides a mysterious Maya High Priest. Get your photo taken with the most respected member of the Maya community and maybe he will even let you take a peek at some of his ceremonial items.

Mexican Music Fiesta

Stamp your feet and shake your maracas to the infectious sound of the music of Mexico. With Café Con Pan, a duo specializing in Son Jarocho, a traditional Mexican music from the Tuxtlas region of Veracruz,, and Mexico Amigo Mariachi, founded by Mexican-born Toronto musician Jorge Lopez and featuring authentic costumes and instruments which highlight Mexican folklore and culture and the distinct sound of Mariachi.

Koho the Bald Eagle, Earth Rangers Ambassador

Our friends at Earth Rangers are back with their popular daily shows and live animal ambassadors! Kids will love meeting Cosmo the Ring-Tailed Lemur, Timber the Pine Marten, Koho the Bald Eagle, and more. The Earth Rangers animal ambassadors will be performing daily at 11:30 am, 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm in the Signy and Cléophee Eaton Theatre, Level B1.

A Canadian Winter Wonderland
Not all animals hibernate in the winter! Back by popular demand, the Earth Rangers Studio in the Life in Crisis: Schad Gallery of Biodiversity on Level 2 of the Museum will be transformed into an A Canadian Winter Wonderland. Learn to identify animal tracks and discover how Canadian wildlife has learned to adapt to the cold weather.

The ROM's new Executive Chef, Chef Corbin, has cooked up some special Holiday fare which will be available from Monday, December 26, 2011 through Sunday, January 8, 2012.
The Holiday-themed lunch menu in c5 restaurant lounge, our fine dining restaurant, includes ROM Pot Pie (free range chicken with winter root vegetables) or Agnolotti stuffed with roasted chestnuts and squash.
