Patricia Harris Gallery of Textiles & Costume

Level 4, Michael Lee-Chin Crystal
This spacious new gallery with angular walls rising to approximately 13 metres (43 feet) presents the ROM’s rich and diverse collection of 50,000 textile and costume artifacts through a rotating display of about 200 pieces dating from the 1st century BC to the 21st century AD.

Outstanding examples of Chinese imperial costume, late Antique and early Islamic textiles from Egypt, western fashion from the Baroque period to the present day and early Canadian coverlets illustrate the extensive transformations in textile design and manufacturing throughout the past 3,000 years.

The open-concept design and high ceilings allow textiles to be displayed in unique formations presenting visitors with a three-dimensional experience.
