Samuel European Galleries

Level 3, Hilary and Galen Weston Wing, Weston Family Wing
Some of the ROM’s most popular and renowned collections are located in the Samuel European Galleries. Primarily featuring the decorative arts of western and central Europe from the Middle Ages to the present day, the galleries comprise two wings.

Hilary and Galen Weston Wing showcases topics and themes such as culture and context, and special collections including metalwork, ceramics, glass, and the perennial favourite—arms and armour.

The Dr. Fred Weinberg & Joy Cherry Weinberg Judaica Collection presents highlights from the ROM's collection of artifacts celebrating Jewish life and culture in Europe and North America in the 19th and 20th centuries. Art Deco: from the Bernard & Sylvia Ostry Collection displays the ROM’s notable Art Deco collection.

The European Temporary Exhibition gallery hosts special exhibitions. Classic design and changing styles are featured in Wedgwood: Artistry and Innovation, the current exhibition of nearly 100 of the finest Wedgwood wares in Canada.

The Weston Family Wing highlights the evolution of style from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, with period rooms, vignettes, and displays of various European arts and crafts. Audio stations provide intriguing insights into the social life of each era, as well as evocative period music.
