Our New Look
ROM Biodiversity researchers studying insects, fungi, and mammals have been discovering new species in the heart of Borneo, in Gunung Mulu National Park, throughout the month of May. They have descended the mountain to return to base camp and tune into an audience LIVE via Google Hangout, during a Friday Night Live event at the ROM on May 24, 2013. Every year, thousands of migrating birds encounter urban environments on their way to breeding or feeding grounds. Birds mistake the reflection in buildings for habitat during the day, and are attracted to light at night - both situations cause an estimated 1 million bird deaths per year in Toronto alone.
