DINO-SIZED

IMPACT

ROM palaeontologists were thrilled to introduce the world to Zuul crurivastator, a NEW species of armoured dinosaur in 2017. Named after the terror-dog monster from Ghostbusters, Zuul (rhymes with ‘cool’) has been a media sensation and was even featured in this video with Dan Aykroyd, star of the 1984 blockbuster movie!

Discovered in the badlands of Montana, this amazingly well-preserved skeleton is the most complete ever found for an ankylosaur, with a remarkably intact spiky tail and tail club. This landmark addition to the ROM’s collection was acquired with generous support of the Louise Hawley Stone Charitable Trust.

We’re eager to bring this 75-million-year-old fossil to life at the ROM. But we need your help to clean the bones and create high-resolution 3D models of Zuul’s spiky tail club. Donate to our crowdfunding project so we can share this incredible discovery with ROM visitors—and with people all over the world!
