Celebrating Hatch's Outstanding Philanthropy

The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), McMaster University and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre proudly congratulate Hatch, a global engineering and professional services firm, as the 2015 recipient of Outstanding Corporation Award at the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Philanthropy Awards.

Philanthropy has always been a core value at Hatch, demonstrated with gifts and initiatives that are generous, innovative and far-reaching. This strong tradition of giving back to the community is a key aspect of Hatch’s commitment to ethical and responsible business practices globally. Drawing on the expertise and dedication of Hatch’s 10,000 employees, the company is making a significant contribution to improving health and education, while engineering a better future.

Hatch’s remarkable gift of $3 million in 2014 to the ROM represents an investment in education and learning that will be felt for generations to come. Hatch’s generosity has supported several exciting ROM initiatives, including the acquisition of the Kirwin Collection—a transformative collection of over 20,000 ores and minerals gathered by famed geologist Douglas Kirwin. Hatch recognizes the potential of the collection as a teaching tool. The company’s investment will support university graduate students in their research, as well as other learning opportunities at the ROM.

Hatch is the first engineering firm to receive the Outstanding Corporation award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals since the category’s inception in 1989.
