Playing Hooky

  • 2010 - now

In 2011, my employer participated in a cultural exchange program where francophone students from Quebec were given the opportunity to work in Toronto for the summer. The student who was assigned to work in my department was an enthusiastic young girl from Montreal who connected well with all of us. This was the first time she had been to Ontario, and she was so excited to be here. She spent almost every weekend seeing all the sights, like Niagara Falls, Wonderland, the CN Tower, etc. One Friday morning towards the end of her term, we were talking about all the things she'd seen so far and she mentioned that she still had not been to the ROM! So, after getting permission from my manager, the two of us took off to visit the ROM. We spent the whole afternoon there and had a great time.
