Learning Leadership - or not
- 1982 - 2000
My daughter, a ROM kid of the first water, attended a museum leadership camp for pre-teens one summer. She loved the camp where they did lots of creative things, including making a Roman villa. However, the last day she came home very annoyed about her final evaluation. I couldn't see why she was upset since she had an "A" and received lots of praise for her creativity and leadership, Then she explained that what upset her was the caveat that perhaps she did not always listen to the views of others in her group. "That's so unfair!" she wailed. "I do too listen to their stupid ideas! And then tell them what we are actually going to do!" It is a wonder she has never entered Canadian politics.
