There is no free night at the ROM.  However on Fridays between 4:30pm and 8:30pm we offer Best Value Fridays where the general admission is reduced rate.

Comment by Leanne

Could you please let me know if there is any free admission to the ROM during March Break either on Wednesdays after 3:30PM or on Fridays after 4:30PM?

Thanks,

Leanne

There is no free admission to the ROM.  On Fridays from 4:30-8:30pm there is reduced admission.  Over March Break from March 14-22, there will be reduced admission after 4:30pm everyday.  The reduced rates are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and students, $7 for children.  There is a surcharge for our special exhibiton called Wildlife Photographer of the Year.

I have one question. Can I have free admission on Friday after 4.30pm with my toddler?

Comment by Lead Concierge

There is no free admission to the ROM.  However, there is Best Value Friday nights which offer reduced admission throughout most of the year.  This continues until April 22 and then starts again July 1, 2016.  Children under 4 years old are always free.

How much is the adult admission on Fridays after 4:30 pm and until what time are you open on Fridays?
Thank you so much,
Pauline

The ROM is open until 6:30pm on Fridays with regular admission until July.  Beginning on July 1, 2016 the museum will close at 8:30 pm Fridays and we will have discounted admission after 4:30 pm.  The discounted admission rate is $10 with a surcharge for special exhibitions.

Hi, I would like to know for on Friday Night Free Admission, what does it cover at the ROM?, what I mean is, what part of the Museum I am able to see and what not be able to see. Planning to visit in December or first week of January.

Thank you.

Comment by Sandy Laird

I'm confused about whether Friday admissions are free or are at reduced prices. Could you please clarify

Comment by Lead Concierge

The ROM is open until 5:30pm on Fridays with regular admission rates.  During the holiday period from December 26 to January 8 we will have extended hours from 10 am to 7 pm with regular admission rates all day.  The only exceptional days are Saturday, December 31 and Sunday, January 8 when the museum will close at 5:30pm.

So basically there really is NO FREE admission of Fridays at all, just a ploy to think. Shame on ROM, other galleries around the world offer free admission. Was in NY a year ago and they have free admissions to their museums albeit not a peak hrs but on a weekday.

Well, perhaps a time for free admission should be brought back. Throughout the world many museums have such hours, or in some cases no admission charge at all.

Hi,
Often we are told Toronto has so much to offer. It's a destination for tourists, but, the locals cannot afford to see the sights tourists have saved for.
When families go on vacation, they often save for those types of 'extras', like visiting the ROM.
It would be nice if 'locals' could pay a 'local price', rather than a big tourist price.
The last vacation my husband & I had was on a cruise to Mexico, and was our honeymoon as well, in 2001. With 3 children, our children get to go camping on some weekends and to a 2 week camp in the summer.
We'd like to visit the ROM, and being outside Toronto, we'd need to drive; pay for parking; pay for admission; and after adding all of that up, it's a week's worth of groceries or a Hydro bill.
If I'm misinformed, please let me know. If you offer 'Locals' fair pricing and not Tourism prices, please advise.
Suggestion: Two hour Tuesdays (11:00-1:00 pm) - it would encourage lunch to be eaten there too. Win-Win! Wrist bands for all; different colour for 2 Hr Tuesdays.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us. The museum currently does not have separate pricing for locals and tourists but we do offer programs through our Community Access Networks and Programs such as the Museum Arts Pass through the Toronto Public Library. For information on these access programs please visit, Access Programs and Services.

We also currently offer dicounted admission on Friday nights for our ROM Summer Fridays from 5:30pm-8:30pm until September 22, 2017.
