Bilingual Administrative Assistant (part-time); three months

The Bilingual Administrative Assistant assists the Manager of French Translation Services (FTS) and the Translator-Revisor by performing various clerical and administrative duties in a primarily French environment, including data entry, financial duties, text formatting, filing and maintenance of the FTS filing system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • support for the FTS unit by formatting documents, preparing text files for in house and external translation, entering corrections/updates on edited texts and posting press releases on the website
  • tracks and forwards translation requests to freelancers
  • updates electronic files to maintain a current record of exhibitions and other projects
  • performs a variety of financial duties, including processing invoices 
  • receives/processes mail, files correspondence, maintains the FTS filing system, orders office supplies
  • assists with responding to telephone calls
  • performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • completion of a high school French language program, preferably post-secondary education
  • fluency in both oral and written French and English language skills
  • two years administrative experience in a translation work environment
  • strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, e-mail, internet), experience in html coding is an asset
  • interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skills are necessary
