The planned retirement of the incumbent Vice-President of HR&OD has created this exciting executive opportunity for a visionary HR professional who is ready to take the next step in an accomplished career. In this key role, you will provide corporate and operational leadership in developing, directing, overseeing and implementing human resource activities and initiatives that address the strategic needs of the Museum.
Accountable for all policies and programs in the areas of recruitment, hiring, compensation, benefi ts and pension, training and development, performance management, HR planning and labour/employee relations, you will direct the ROM’s involvement in union contract negotiations, the administration of collective agreements, and Health & Safety activities. As VP, you will oversee, coach and inspire a team of human resources professionals, and advise senior management on all strategic and operational HR matters that may impact Museum operations.
You are an outstanding leader with a track record of success in an environment of change, able to draw upon a range of organizational
models and operationalize a corporate vision and strategy. Your expertise in all things HR has been honed through no fewer than 10 years of
progressive management experience in the human resources field within a unionized environment, including senior-level responsibilities.
You are conversant with relevant current and proposed provincial legislation, have effectively managed and negotiated collective agreements, and are adept at managing relationships with multiple stakeholders to achieve results under competing demands. A relevant degree is assumed, and a CHRP, CHRM or other recognized HR designation would be an asset.
