Friends of the Canadian Collections

If you like bats and beavers, birds and black flies, flowers and fungi, kayaks and canoes, moccasins and mukluks, armoires and armchairs, whales and watercolours.....you will feel right at home being a Friend of the Canadian Collections.

Our mandate is to increase awareness of the richness of Canadian Culture and Natural History. We support curatorial purchases, research projects, gallery displays, visitor activities and ROM programs.

To promote learning about our collections we:

  • Provide invitations to special lectures, tours and gallery activities
  • Publish Newsletters twice yearly newsletters to keep you informed about what’s new 
  • Arrange get-togethers and events with fellow supporters

Recent Activities included

  • Financial support for publication of a definitive catalogue of Canadian Watercolours, as well as for the plastination of the Blue Whale Heart
  • Development and staffing Treasure Hunts in the Canadian and First Peoples galleries for March Breaks and ROM for the Holidays
  • Partnering with the ROM on Thursday Daytime Lectures
