The Friends of ROM Contemporary Culture

The Friends of ROM Contemporary Culture find imaginative ways to bring alive the mission of stimulating diverse audiences to think creatively, understand and change the world. The group’s signature series is the semi-annual Curated Conversation.

Curated Conversation is built on the idea that meaningful dialogue is not only satisfying but has the potential to be life-changing. By bringing together groups of people with exceptionally varied backgrounds and interests to talk about contemporary topics, this format facilitates a rich exchange of ideas between all participants that continues to resonate long after event ends.

Events typically include an after-hours tour and Curated Conversation.

Past Curated Conversation Events include:

  • A Definition of Awe: Dialogues about Sebastião Salgado’s Genesis, Spring 2013
  • Into the Shadows: Contemporary Reflections on a Forgotten Genocide, Fall 2012
  • Oceans Apart – Featuring Deborah Samuels’ Elegy, Spring 2012
  • Understanding Contemporary Mexico: Unlocking Creative Perspectives, Fall 2011
