Description
Ancient Mesopotamia, the Cradle of Civilization, gave birth to the Western traditions of writing as well as influencing our laws and social and political systems that are in use today. From the ceiling in the Royal Ontario Museum's Rotunda to the Wirth Galleries of the Middle East, students will investigate artifacts from the ancient Levant and follow the development of these traditions into modern times in the Dr. Fred Weinberg and Joy Cherry Weinberg Gallery of Judaica. In the lab component, the students will have a hands-on- opportunity to examine ancient and modern artifacts reflecting the history and traditions of the Jewish people and their role in the development of Western Civilization.
