Description
The constellations form the framework of the night sky. Using a variety of methods, students discover the star
pictures of early Egypt, Greece and Rome and learn how to read a star map, which they can take home. The
planetarium provides a view of the night sky most students in light-polluted Ontario may never have seen. Students
learn to identify various bright stars and constellation pictures, the zodiac, and observe why the North Star is important.
Curriculum Links: identify components of the solar system; identify bodies in space that emit light and reflect light; use appropriate science and technology vocabulary
Maximum 25 people (including students, teachers, educational assistants and supervisors) at one time.
