Description
Students explore the ROM to discover how the role of museums has changed, from being “Cabinets of Curiosities” in wealthy homes to becoming public institutions. This new direction was to educate, display the “best” of the past, and be a source of inspiration for training artisans of the future. The museum today combines those traditions but it is also a social and commercial centre. This topic helps students to discover the variety of skills and professions found within a museum, as they consider their own future goals and career choices.
Maximum 35 people (including students, teachers, educational assistants and supervisors) at one time.
Do not combine with Architecture, Design and History of the ROM due to similar content.
Availability subject to change.
