Typical Day

Please arrive 15 minutes before your visit is scheduled to begin for a smooth start to your exciting day at the Royal Ontario Museum!

Check in with our School Visits reception team at the President’s Choice School Entrance at the south end of the Museum for speedy payment processing, coat rack assignment and a friendly and informative orientation before entering the galleries.

If you booked a lesson in advance, our reception team will connect your group with the assigned ROM teacher.  Or if you chose to go at your own pace, either way, you will embark upon an unforgettable educational ROM adventure!

If your scheduled visit takes place in the morning, your group is welcome to stay for lunch and explore the Museum in the afternoon. School groups may enjoy their brown bag lunches brought from home in the ROMkids Lunch Room. Select "yes" to Lunch Space Required on your application form to book in advance.  Vending machines with snack and drink options are available in the ROMkids Lunch Room, and students not bringing their lunch can also purchase food and beverages in our Druxy's ROM Café

School groups wishing to pre-order student and teacher/chaperone lunches, please contact the ROM Hospitality Department 416.586.5554 for menu selections and ordering information.

If your scheduled visit takes place in the afternoon consider taking a self-guided tour before and/or after your lesson. Your group is welcome to stay between 10:00 am and 5:20 pm.
