Welcome to Education at the ROM
Weekend and out of province schools or groups should book through Group Sales.
School programs are designed to meet Ontario's Ministry of Education curriculum expectations. The ROM offers three different program formats: conducted lessons, special exhibit lessons, and self-guided visits. Our collection includes six million scientific and cultural artifacts. Our teachers are specialists and passionate about learning.

Information at a Glance
Ontario Schools, educational organizations, recreational camps and adult learners are accepted year round from Monday to Friday, arriving between 10:00-3:00. Conducted classes address specific Ontario curriculum expectations by grade and subject. For convenient service we recommend online registration.
Cancellations must be e-mailed at least 10 business days before scheduled visit to email@example.com. Cancellations received after this period will be charged a cancellation fee equivalent to the 15 student minimum charge per group. If you are cancelling multiple reservations, please either cancel them individually by responding to each reservation e-mail, or send a separate e-mail listing all the reservation numbers. Failure to confirm your reservation is not considered a cancellation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Conducted programs are taught by a qualified ROM teacher. Lessons are 60 to 90 minutes long. Bookings must be made 2 weeks in advance. They address Ontario curriculum expectations.
- Lab lessons are hands-on and take place entirely in a classroom setting. Available September - June.
- Exhibit lessons take place entirely in our galleries and do not have a hands-on component. Most lessons are available year round.
- Lab/exhbit lessons are a combination of lab and exhibit lessons (half and half). Available September - June.

Special Exhibition Tours
Special exhibit tours offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Tours are sixty minutes long. Bookings must be made 2 weeks in advance.
The Forbidden City runs from March 8 to September 1, 2014.
Self-guided Visit Options
The ROM is open for group viewing from 10 AM - 5:20 PM, Monday to Friday, arriving before 3:00 p.m. Groups must book 2 days in advance to get the student rate. Print out these fun activity guides to use when you're here!

Then one of our three Hands-on learning galleries may be just the ticket. These special drop-in exhibits are open every day at the ROM during your self-guided time and are free with paid admission.
