I have a golf ball sized (suspect) meteorite that I found on the shore of Georgian Bay in Wasaga Beach. Heavier than the average stone of its size at 89 grams. It is definitely not slag and does not look at all like magnetite or hematite. Leaves a faint grey streak on unglazed material. Magnetic. No fusion crust. Black and rusty in appearance on the outside, interior is black with minute specks of metal with small whitish circular chondrites. (I sanded a small window with a belt sander) I am unable to find any pictures of the Midland meteorite for comparison as this could be a fragment of the same event. Your link to the ROM ID clinic is inoperative. How to proceed?
please be advised that I will be out of town for a few weeks returning Feb 25th.
