As the Managing Director of three of the ROM's Centres of Discovery, I am charged with sharing and making relevant the riches of the Museum's world cultures collections and curatorial research in archaeology, art history, anthropology and conservation. I work with my colleagues across the ROM in the curatorial departments, exhibitions, programs, media, learning, marketing, communications, volunteers, as well as national and international communities and partners to create engaging conversations with the ROM's audiences about past civilizations, visual arts, and material culture.
Before joining the ROM, I was the Curator of Chinese and Korean collections at the British Museum. I have a PhD in Chinese archaeology from the University of Oxford and a Master's degree in Chinese art and archaeology from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. I did my undergraduate studies in foreign affairs administration at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and served as Cultural Attaché at the German Embassy in Beijing.
I am cross-appointed as Associate Professor in the Department of the History of Art at the University of Toronto.
