Prior to joining the ROM, Dr. Edwards served as director of libraries at First Nations University of Canada, and also served as special collections librarian at the University of Saskatchewan.  He has held cross-disciplinary teaching positions at Laurentian and Mount Allison Universities, as well as universities in Slovakia and Romania.  He is the author of several publications, including Paper Talk: a history of libraries, print culture, and Aboriginal peoples in Canada before 1960 (Scarecrow, 2005) and Slovakia: Culture Smart! The Essential Guide to Customs & Culture (Kuperard, 2011).
