This is the Magnamaxillasaurus, which means "large-jawed lizard". It is the closest animal linking dinosaurs to crocodiles. It lived as the top predator in humid, swampy areas. It fed on any other animal that could fit in its mouth. Its jaws were extremely large and powerful, and an adult magnamaxillasaurus had a bite pressure of over 4000 pounds! Its tail was very muscular and streamlined, which helped it maneuver its bulky body very swiftly through shallow waters. An adult magnamaxillasaurus weighed approximately one ton (2000 pounds) and measured about 9 meters in length.
