Family Camp: Wildlife Wonders

Photo collage of eyes of a variety of different animals.

Why are zebras striped, snakes smooth, and male lions maned? There's so much to learn from and discover about the wonders of wildlife! Get a one-of-a-kind tour of our Schad Gallery of Biodiversity and Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit from one of our stellar educators and be inspired by the incredible selection of animals we have on display. Then get up close with rarely seen specimens from our zoology collections. Finally, take what you've learned and create a masterpiece using the wonderful designs, colours, and textures found in the natural world!

Meet the Instructor!

  • Beverley Galandzy started working at the ROM over 17 years ago and has never looked back. She began as a Summer Club instructor and has since taken on a wide variety of roles teaching learners of all ages from kindergarten to adults in a variety of settings. Over the years Beverley has developed her teaching repertoire to include many disciplines, but she always add a little TEK and a little environmental awareness into the mix. As well as being a teacher in the Learning department, she is also an instructor for ROMKids programs, New to Canada Youth Club, and ROM Moms. Working closely with management teams and curators, she develops object-based learning opportunities for students of all ages. Beverley believes that part of being an educator is being a life-long learner. She love challenging herself to learn new things, from every detail of a new exhibit, to new discoveries in the world of science and more.
