Face to Face: ROM’s Imperial Collection inside the ROM’s Joey and Toby Tanenbaum Gallery of China

Approximately 2,500 exceptional objects represent one of the ROM's core collections. Trace the history of China through priceless objects ranging from beautifully painted Prehistoric ceramic jars to elaborate 18th Century furniture. The transition from early hunting and gathering to sedentary farming and the themes of daily life illustrate China's prehistoric and Bronze Age periods in the T.T. Tsui Exhibit of Prehistory and Bronze Age. Follow the unification of China's many independent states and the spread

Dr. Chen Shen will give Members an overview of the ROM's Imperial Collection housed in the Gallery of China and will share insights to the blockbuster exhibition, The Forbidden City: Inside the Court of China’s Emperors,  which opens on March 8, 2014.

Following the tour, Members are welcome to visit The Forbidden City: Inside the Court of China’s Emperors exhibition and follow the tour of the ROM’s Gallery of China.  The exhibition includes remarkable artifacts from the ROM’s own internationally renowned Chinese collections.
