Curators' Corner: Migration

A flock of American White Pelicans seen from above, as the fly over a meandering river system on a broad plain

Included with Museum admission

A great variety of living things embark on incredible journeys every year in the search for food, shelter, mates, and more! Drop in and have an opportunity to get your hands on a select collection of migratory animal specimens, while learning more about the research and conservation efforts the ROM is actively taking part from ROM Ornithology Technician Mark Peck. This event will coincide with the opening of our Empty Skies: The Passenger Pigeon Legacy exhibit in the Gallery of Birds, which highlights, among other things, how the extinction of the migratory Passenger Pigeon 100 years ago was an important turning point in the protection of migratory birds.

Join us in the Earth Rangers Studio, in the Life in Crisis: Schad Gallery of Biodiversity on Saturday, August 23rd, from 11 AM to 4 PM to learn more about the wonders of migration!
