Join world renowned Egyptologist Barry Kemp as he discusses the most recent discoveries at the enigmatic ancient Egyptian capital of controversial Pharaoh Akhenaten.
 
As the Director of the Amarna Trust, Professor Kemp has dedicated his life to uncovering the history of the site where King Tutankhamun spent his childhood. Funds from this event will go towards the ongoing research at this site.
 

Speaker Bio:   Barry J. Kemp, CBE, has directed excavations at the New Kingdom site of Tel-el Amarna for the Egypt Exploration Society since 1977. An Emeritus Fellow of the University of Cambridge, he is currently Director of The Amarna Project, and Chairman of The Amarna Trust.

Professor Kemp is the author of numerous scholarly and general publications on ancient Egypt, including the standard text Ancient Egypt: Anatomy of a Civilization. He has also contributed to major anthologies on ancient history, such as the Journal of Civilizations of the Ancient Near East (ed. J. Sasson).

Professor Kemp was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2011 for his dedication and service to the disciplines of archaeology, education, and international relations in Egypt. Learn more about Professor Kemp and his work in the ROM interview.
