ROM SPEAKS: Science Lectures

Under the Sea: Celebrating Photography Beneath the Waves
7:00 - 9:00 pm, $18 ROM Members, $20 General Public
Signy and Cléophée Eaton Theatre, Level 1B

An evening of storytelling and remarkable underwater marine photography with acclaimed National Geographic photographer and WPY finalist David Doubilet and marine biologist Jennifer Hayes. Event is part of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year (WPY) exhibition and includes a post-event reception with one host drink.

Annual Darwin Day Lecture: The Future of Science

Dan Riskin, evolutionary biologist, author, and co-host of The Discovery Channel's Daily Planet, explores what sets thinkers like Galileo, Newton, and Darwin apart from their peers.

From British Columbia to Newfoundland to Hudson Bay, ROM curator David Rudkin shares Canada's own extraordinary record of ancient life.

ROM Daytime Lectures

Visit the Museum on Thursdays at 11:00 am from January 14, 2016 to February 25, 2016, for talks on topics ranging from Mozart Noir to Point & Punch: Historical Editorial Cartoons. Lectures are free for ROM Members and are included with ROM General Admission.

ROM Adult Programs

Adult Sleepover: The popular overnight family sensation, opens up for the +19 crowd for the first time! Complete with music, exclusive midnight access to the James and Louise Temerty Galleries of the Age of Dinosaurs and more, this adult only sleepover takes place Friday, January 15 to Saturday, January 16, 2016.

#FNLROM: One Love: The second annual exclusive Winter edition of the ROM’s popular #FNLROM series returns to celebrate Bob Marley and Caribbean culture on Friday, February 16, 2016.

Family Programs

Saturday Club: This iconic ROM program runs Saturdays from January 9, 2016 to March 5, 2016, and offers art projects, science experiments, and hands-on adventures inspired by the Museum’s collections. For kids aged 5 to 14 years old.

ROM Big Weekends: Visit the Museum on January 16 and 17, 2016 for Dinos Rule The ROM, a weekend long event featuring ROM paleontologists, a pop-up prep lab, and activities including make your own copy of a fossil and much more. On February 13 to February 15, 2016 enjoy Lunar New Year, featuring Family Day celebrations including dance performances, seasonal food, and a special Family Games lounge with chess, yunnori, charades, and a New Year’s quiz. ROM Big Weekends are free with ROM General Admission. Activities take place from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. Details are available at rom.on.ca/bigweekends.  

March Break Camp: Sign up early for ROM March Break programming on from March 14, 2106 to March 18, 2016. This year the Museum celebrates Enchanted ROM: Cabinet of Curiosities with games, crafts, and mysteries from the ROM’s collections all designed for kids aged 5 to 14.

ROMTeen Friday: A special new kind of Friday night fun! Geared toward kids from 13 to 18, ROMTeen Friday takes over the Museum on Friday, February 12, 2016.
