TORONTO, June 1, 2016 – This year, travel with the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) to connect with our city—and world—in new ways. Be inspired and discover new perspectives on our shared cultural history. A new season of ROMwalks, ROMbus, and ROMtravel includes trips through Toronto’s oldest neighbourhoods, as well as far-off destinations.

Highlights of this season’s ROMwalks include nine Toronto neighbourhoods to be explored in one of 36 free walks. Experience Toronto’s history from street level through stories told by a dedicated group of ROM guides. Walks include an Arts & Entertainment route, on July 10 and August 10, takes participants through the city’s theatre district. The Queen’s Park Circle walk returns and shares the history of Queen’s Park and the surrounding University of Toronto campus, on June 29, and August 3.

ROMwalks are free. To participate, meet at the designated location on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm or Sundays at 2:00 pm (look for the guides with the purple ROM umbrella). Walks take place rain or shine, are about two hours, and are led by knowledgeable guides.

Exclusive to ROM Members are two walking tours: Toronto Necropolis, on July 16 at 1:00 pm, and historic Jarvis Street on October 15 at 1:00 pm. ROM Members can register for these walks at rom.on.ca/members/events or by calling 416.586.5700.
