Temerty Dinosaur Galleries

Stomping grounds for our dinos!

Grab your friends and family and get ready to travel back in time to the Mesozoic Era (that’s 250 to 65 million years ago), an era which saw the appearance, diversification and ultimately the extinction of the largest animals ever to walk on Earth — dinosaurs. Over 350 fossils are on display, including 50 dinosaur specimens with over 20 complete or nearly complete skeletons.

The James and Louise Temerty Galleries of the Age of Dinosaurs display fossils from the Jurassic (200 to 145 million years old) and Cretaceous (145 to 65 million years old) periods, divided into two general themes: Life on Land, and Life in the Sea. Discover the crafty Deinonychus, steely Triceratops, and the most feared of them all, Tyrannosaurus rex in Life on Land. Or get up close and personal with marine reptiles, fish and numerous marine invertebrates in Life in the Sea. Alongside the dinosaurs are hundreds of fossils representing other life forms, including other terrestrial reptiles, plants and insects that shared the land with the dinosaurs. Next to the Temerty Dinosaur Galleries you’ll find the Reed Gallery of the Age of Mammals. Say hello to the Cenozoic Era (65 million years ago) and let fossil mammals, plants, insects, corals, fish and turtles be your guide to this era when mammals ruled the earth.
