How can I find what I’m looking for on the website?
You can use the general search at the top-right of every page by entering one or more descriptive words in the search box. You can also view our site map, which identifies the organization and levels of information on the website. If you still can not find the information, see Contact Us.

How many visitors a year does the ROM’s website receive?
From July 2004 to June 2005, the site recorded 2,503,818 Web visits. We increased our numbers from July 2005 to June 2006 to 2,899,728 visits.

How does the Museum use the information it collects from online visitors?
The ROM is committed to respecting the personal privacy of our website visitors. Personal information is only obtained if you supply it voluntarily when using our website, i.e. contacting us via e-mail, entering a contest, making a purchase, or registering for programs. The ROM uses personal information in a limited number of ways, foremost to complete transactions, deliver the selected product or service, and to respond to questions or comments. Is your website accessible to people with disabilities?
The website is working to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines established by the W3C. Please e-mail web@rom.on.ca, if you have any suggestions or have experienced difficulties.

May I use information and images from your website?
Information and images posted on the website can be used for private enjoyment or study only.

For ROM materials, downloaded information must not be modified, must retain any associated copyright or other proprietary notices, and must acknowledge the source of the material. The source citations should include the URL www.rom.on.ca. You must also adhere to any additional terms and restrictions that may appear on individual pages of the website. All other uses are prohibited without the express written authorization of the ROM.

Materials, for which copyright belongs to others, may not be copied or downloaded without prior permission from the third party. For more information, see the Copyright Policy.

Yes. We allow links to the Museum’s website. Please note we do not provide reciprocal links.

The Museum only provides links to the websites of our donors and sponsors, or to resources identified by our staff.
