What are ROM Programs?
ROM Programs cover diverse topics and are geared to the adult learner, looking for a fun and informative experience.
What is ROMkids?
ROMkids, programs aimed at children and youth 16 and under, includes our popular Saturday Morning Club, Summer Club and March Break Camp.
When are ROM programs offered?
ROM programs are offered three times a year—Fall, Winter and Spring on weekdays, evenings and weekends. Most programs are two to four hours long and are offered over a series of weeks up to a maximum of eight weeks.
What are the qualifications of program instructors/lecturers?
ROM instructors/lecturers are certified professionals and/or have significant work experience in their designated field. ROM instructors/lecturers include Museum curators, ROM educators, visual artists, and authors. Program descriptions include a short biography on the instructor/lecturer.
Who do I contact if I have an idea for a program?

Does my program ticket include admission to the Museum?
Yes, but only on the day of the program and it excludes any special/ticketed exhibitions. Please have your ticket/confirmation with you as proof of your payment.
How can I find out if a program is still available?
To enquire about program availability, please call the Programs Department at 416.586.5797 or see Programs and search for the program of your choice. The website will indicate a sold out notice for programs that are filled. You can request to have your name added to a waiting list by calling the Programs Department.
Where are ROM programs held?
Programs are mainly held in the ROM’s education classrooms, the studio, the Signy and Cléophée Eaton Theatre and the RBC Foundation Glass Room. Some programs may take place off-site.
How can I register for programs at the Museum?
You can register for programs online. Once you have found the program of interest, select the enroll prompt. You will be directed through a series of steps to provide your contact information, payment information (where relevant) and confirmation.
How will I receive confirmation/ticket of my program registration?
If you register over the phone you will be mailed a confirmation/ticket within two weeks time. If you register within five business days of the program start date your confirmation/ticket will be held at the door. With online registrations, your confirmation/ticket will be sent to you by e-mail within minutes of completing the online payment.
Can I reserve a spot in a ROM program and pay later?
Full payment must be made at the time of registration.
How far in advance do I need to register for a ROM program?
To ensure yourself a spot, it is always best to register in advance. Some programs are limited in space capacity. If a program does not sell out before the start date, tickets will be sold at the door on a first-come, first serve basis. Note: tickets at the door may be limited.

I tried registering online, but my membership number is not being accepted?
Please check that you have entered your membership number and expiry date correctly. You must have a valid membership in order for the system to accept your number. If you still have trouble, please call the Programs Department at 416.586.5797.
Do ROM members’ receive discounts on programs?
Yes. One of the benefits of being a ROM member is that members get a discounted rate on all ROM programs.
Can I use my membership from other museums to obtain the members’ rate on ROM programs?
Memberships from other museums are not valid for ROM programs. To receive the members’ rate you must have a valid ROM membership at the time of registration.
What is the ROM refund policy?
A non-refundable fee of 20% will be charged on all refunds regardless of the reason for cancellation. Cancellations must be received in writing and are not refundable within five business days of the program start date. Send your cancellation notice and ticket to Attention: Programs Department, 100 Queen’s Park, Toronto, ON M5S 2C6 or e-mail programs@rom.on.ca.
How can I request a refund for a ROM program?
To request a refund e-mail programs@rom.on.ca or mail a letter to Attention: Programs Department, 100 Queen’s Park, Toronto, ON, M5S 2C6.
Do ROM programs get cancelled?
The ROM reserves the right to cancel programs and a full refund will be forthcoming. You will automatically be notified if the program you have registered for has been cancelled or rescheduled, if you have provided us with a valid e-mail address or phone number.
Do you sell gift certificates for programs?
Gift certificates for programs can be purchased by calling the Programs Department at 416.586.5797. Certificates are available in denominations of $50, $100, and $200 and are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Gift certificates cannot be redeemed for cash and are not transferable to other ROM departments. They are not valid for online purchases and exclude programs offered by the Department of Museum Volunteers. The gift certificate must be submitted at the time of registration.
What is Connecting Singles?
Connecting Singles is a ROM program that offers an alternative to the bar scene. Singles can meet new people and enjoy an engaging speaker every month.

For a listing of Connecting programs, see Lectures, Courses & Events. Select the theme “Connecting for Singles” and the date. If you would like to receive our Connecting e-mail updates send your name and e-mail address to programs@rom.on.ca.
When is the Connecting event held?
The Connecting event is held once a month, usually on the third Friday. The event runs from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. The event does not take place in December and August.
How many people attend Connecting?
On average 150 to 170 people attend Connecting.
How can I register for Connecting?
See Lectures, Courses & Events. Select the theme “Connecting for Singles” and the date. From the program description, select the enroll button. You will be directed through a series of steps to provide your contact information, payment information (where relevant) and you will receive an e-mail confirmation.
What does the Connecting ticket include?
The cost of your ticket includes a half hour lecture, catered hors d’oeuvres, and one complimentary drink ticket.
What is the age range of those who attend Connecting?
The program is geared to mid-career professionals. Most of those who attend are in their late 30s to 50s.
Is there a dress code for Connecting?
Business casual is the common type of dress worn by those in attendance.
