How can I get photographic prints of/or request the right to use Museum images for personal or commercial reasons?
You can use the online tool in ROM Images, our online image collection, to facilitate the ordering of images for personal or commercial use. Please note you must be a registered user to access the online tool. You can also e-mail images@rom.on.ca. Processing times vary from approximately seven to ten days for standard requests or four to six weeks for requests requiring research to locate the image.
How do I become a registered user?
Once in ROM Images, select register and fill out the online submission form. Not all fields are mandatory. There is no fee to become a registered user.
How do I order a Museum image, which I cannot find in ROM Images?
If you are registered in ROM Images as a personal user, you can order images from our extensive image collection by submitting a “Special Request”. If you are registered as a commercial user, you can order images by selecting “Image Request”. You can also e-mail images@rom.on.ca.
How can I get permission to use an image from the ROM’s website on my site?
If the image belongs to the Museum, you can use the online tool in ROM Images, our online image collection, to obtain the necessary permission. Please note you must be a registered user to access the online tool. You can also e-mail images@rom.on.ca.
If not a Museum image, please contact the party that appears in the image credit.
How can I apply for copyright permission to use material from a Museum publication?
Please e-mail Rights & Reproductions at images@rom.on.ca. Provide as much information as you can describing the nature of your request.
How can I apply for permission to use other media such as film, video or 3D images/models from the Museum?
